As some of you know, I’ve been in Hong Kong for a week now!
I won’t bore you with any snapshots from the peak (that will follow later): instead you will be helping me find a way to bring back all the stuff I bought (and more…) Last year I threw away all the boxes, I’m trying to find a way to keep em this time. I did bring 2 large suitcases with me, but one of em is already full of clothes, tripod and the likes.  The other one will carry two MG Gundam max *sighs* I’ll probably have to ship things back home. I do have another smallersized carry-on-board suitcase, but my notebook+camera is taking up the space already.
The Zeon flag was high up on my to buy list and I managed find it in this shady little shop at the Richmond shoppingcentre in Mong Kok.
Buying figures in HK, is kind of a hit and a miss I found out. My advice is if you run into something that you want, then just buy it.  Don’t go bargain hunting to save a buck or two, chances are, that you won’t find the same store again.   (I’ve ran into that problem more than once and I know my way around even…) or you just don’t remember in which tiny store you saw that awesome figure. The shops tend to keep stock low too, especially if they are more expensive. (>US$50 figures)
Sure enough, popular things like figma and nendroid (fake ones included) are widely available, Â but are almost always overpriced at launch. (Yoko or Miku Kagami for example)
Did I mention I love that Zeon flag? ^_^ I’m really happy that I ran into those Luffy x Songoku figures. I picked up MG Gouf Custom for cheap, the 1/100 Dynames was barely cheaper. Haven’t been able to test my Tokina 11-16 F2.8 yet (which I picked up as my b’day present yay) because the weather has been totally shite. It has been raining non-stop since Saturday afternoon. I was on the boat coming back from Macau, The waves were pretty bad, but I’m a pirate! So no complaining hehe.
I’m glad that I went with this brown Domke camera bag: I planned to buy the black version originally, but that one is not water resistant.
Next time I will be posting more about my adventures, H1N1 (swine/mexican flu) in HK, and more loot ofcourse.
hahaha 1st week and your suitcases are full already.
BTW Happy B’day! too bad no lighter as bday gift :P
you go buy one and send me the bill! buy one at 7-11 though!
Lol, you cheapskate. at least you remembered ;)
Wow Tequila, that’s one hell lot of a loot you have there! god, I wished I was able to carry as much as you when I went to Taiwan. :(
Ah, I didn’t carry all that much – shipped back most things by boat this time. It’s impossible to shop and buy everything you want if you have to worry about how to carry it home heh.
