Last Saturday I planned to go to the 30th International Fireworks Festival at Scheveningen beach. (where countries compete every year,  USA vs China vs Holland) Along with my buddy Maddog and his gf. um I mean wife heh (I still tend to call her that..)  But sadly another 175.000 people wanted to do the same.  I don’t think I’ve seen so many cars/people congested before. Result: total chaos,  parking lots were full, police set up roadblocks everywhere – felt like Prototype. When we finally arrived at the beach we drove around the neighbourhood for at least an hour trying to find a parking spot- crazy…taxi?
I decided to jump out of the car on a mission to salvage the already ruined evening and promised to return with at least some footage/photos of the fireworks.

I felt somewhat guilty but your sacrifice was not in vain!

Not bad for my first time shooting fireworks – sadly the other 60 photos were rubbish, thanks to the paki family who decided to jump in front/block the view of my camera. I so wanted to yell at them but couldn’t because of the little kids. Oh well..lessons learned. Next year I’ll definitely go early and camp a nice spot.
