Cylon Gundam and nailpolisher?

We all love Bandai. I don’t have to explain the loving part, but like with relationships there’s always another side. You know the other half does something that makes you wonder: WHYYYYY!?
Personally I dislike the special coated gunpla. Not to mention the very special price. This 30th special HG RX-78-2 GUNDAM ver. Premium Golden Cylon Gundam makes me laugh. It just looks silly.
Another thing I would never buy are those special limited (ugly) memorial clear/transparant editions. I mean come on – they look absolutely rubbish.
At first when Bandai announced the 30th anniversary premium box featuring 11 gundam from many gundam shows, I was really excited! The box looks awesome! Like those James Bond collections (which you regret buying because they’ll add another Bond movie each year)
But then I saw the pictures today:

Right, when Bandai thinks ’special limited’ it means transparant/clear. Let’s keep the costs low and let’s not pain them properly, the collectors will buy it regardlessly – because we call them special exclusive limited version! But for this 30th anniversary they must have thrown a party with wives n kids: and someone happened to have brought glitter nail polisher with them…

The gold version looks too gaudy!
And what’s with Bandai and clear kits? Maybe I have bad taste but I can’t appreciate the beauty of the clear kits.
Maybe they are limited editions because they are too ugly to sell well?
