A short update to let you guys that I arrived safely home (flight took 11h30m). I always think of what I would do first when I’m home:
Nothing beats a nice glass of fresh milk. Campina should pay me for the free advertizing heh. In Hong Kong they only have that pasterized stuff, tastes like plastic ;( and is more expensive than soda. Anyway, I arrived pretty early at 6:15am – I took my time cos I knew my buddy Shun wouldn’t be there until 7:30 to pick me up, normally I consider myself pretty lucky with luggage, but not this time. My flight CX271 was booked full and a 747-400 can carry lot of people. Which means lots of luggage, my suitcases came out last sorta.
And I had an extra suitcase this time (I blame you Jumbo RX78-2!), which resulted in me being stopped by the nothing-to-declare-customs. I sorta expected it to happen, but I didn’t have any expensive electronics with me this time. Except for my DSLR and notebook which were in the small suitcase. They didn’t even pay attention to that, kinda funny if you ask me cos total worth is over US$4500. The dude checking my suitcases was more intrigued by my large suitcases. And by it’s content, I think he expected something different when he opened them up. No electronics, consumables or anything they could charge me extra tax on. Just toys n figures hehe. Then his colleagues told him to hurry up and asked me the sensitive question: did you fly all the way to china to buy toys – you must be a big hobbyist! (in other words: you’re a geek, nerd, otaku) at least the tone he asked me made me feel like that) I reluctantly told them about how great a catch it was (that 30th anniverary jumbo grade gundam)
Then I told the dude how big a mess he made, cos he tried to put back all the things he pulled out but couldn’t. I said I took hours to pack my suitcases and that I had to go through it all again, but that I would manage. He wished me a nice day, and vanished with his colleagues. Â Man, the luggage/customs area was all deserted, the feeling was weird. And then I was stuck because the automatic doors to freedom weren’t opening – I had to call for help, so embarrassing…
Finally home I didn’t bother to unpack or anything, I just went online and started cleaning up around 1800 spam replies.
Should have installed anti-spam plugins earlier..Being away for a month means lots of catching up too, especially anime, mulitiple Naruto, One Piece and Hayate no Gotoku episodes yay! And oh, not that surprising I sorta lied about my final loot post. The day before leaving I bought tons of stuff – among Revoltech Ingram (3x) and this really cute Saber. Maybe not as cool as Danny Choo’s Saber Dollfie but she will have a nice place on my desk. That’s it for now, I have much more to tell and show, but I need to catch up on sleep. lots of it.
