What is it?

If you dig silly/cheesy game quotes, and have played Biohazard 1 (who didn’t?) you must recognize this one in the dining room:
- WHAT IS IT? (blasts away zombie) ~blood
- wesker in the hallway: STOP~don’t open that door!

I am used to be a huge biohazard-junkie, finished Biohazard 1, 2 and CV in 2 days (brags) sadly I could never get myself to complete Nemesis. Haven’t played 4 because I never owned a Gamecube.
My favorite biohazard games in order:
Biohazard 2
Biohazard: Code Veronica
Biohazard 1

But I just picked up RE5. Haven’t been able to play much yet, but the totally useless examinations are back:

# Chris finds a dead dog:

Like hello!? be happy it’s not jumping through the windows ;)
So far the game is decent, but there’s not much left of the horror in the survival.
Too much shooting required, the second person cam really annoys me. and oh,
still not being able to run and shoot sorta pisses me off too. Gameplay wise this is outdated.

I loved the survival-horror genre, but the genre got old really quick.

I totally loved Silent Hill (1), the first time I played it was at my buddy Sven’s place, he lived in this really remote area, it was christmas eve and misty outside haha.
Eerie atmosphere? Check. Will never forget that gaming moment. Anyway, soon the sequels followed, but I got tired of walking into a building, facing closed doors. Having to search for the damn key (again) only to find some useless inkribbon. Oops, wrong game.

Well I could probably rant all day about games. I used to claim to be a hardcore gamer, but my love for gaming died. (when SEGA went out of business) I used to live the arcades, I would call Fortuna my home. But last year when I went to Hong Kong I didn’t even enter the arcades.
Not once. For the first time in years, I returned from HK without a brand new (import) console. I must be getting old.

…this definitely takes me back to the good old days…
